The manufacturer controls setup approval, guarding, workholding, cutting parameters, chip management, tool condition, and operator procedures according to its equipment and risk assessment.
Where the two meet
Features that create unusual workholding, imbalance, interrupted cuts, thin walls, or long overhangs should be discussed during manufacturability review because they affect both process planning and quote assumptions.
