Mold components work as a system. Individual part drawings should preserve the interfaces, datum relationships, fits, hardness, and surface requirements required by the assembly.

Plates and guiding elements

Define hole relationships, perpendicularity, alignment datums, fits, and any requirements for guide components or replaceable wear elements.

Cores, inserts, and sliders

Identify molding surfaces, shutoffs, sealing areas, cooling interfaces, motion surfaces, corner conditions, and regions requiring EDM, texture, or polishing.

Assembly-aware inspection

Part-level inspection should focus on dimensions that determine assembly position and function. Where appropriate, include fit checks or matched-component identification in the quote scope.
