Defect prevention begins before the first setup. These controls are intended as RFQ and planning checkpoints, not as a substitute for the approved drawing or process plan.

1–2. Revision and datum strategy

Confirm the released revision and identify functional datums. Workholding and inspection should reference a consistent coordinate system through roughing, heat treatment, finishing, and final measurement.

3–4. Stock and thermal sequence

Leave appropriate stock for later operations and plan heat treatment, stress relief, or stabilization before finishing dimensions that are sensitive to distortion.

5–7. EDM details, finish, and evidence

Define electrode or wire-EDM requirements, corner conditions, texture or polishing zones, and the dimensions that require recorded inspection before the component leaves the supplier.
