Inspection Planning Worksheet
Does every dimension need a measured report?
No. Reporting should match part risk and buyer requirements. Critical characteristics may need recorded data while other dimensions can follow the agreed sampling or standard inspection route.
When should inspection be planned relative to finishing?
Before production release. The plan should state whether a characteristic is accepted before coating, after finishing, in both conditions, or after assembly.
Can the worksheet specify CMM inspection automatically?
No. The appropriate method depends on geometry, tolerance, access, and available qualified equipment. The method is confirmed for the specific order.
