The review begins by confirming which files and commercial conditions control the request.
Current CAD and drawing revision, file names, units, and scale.
Part number, quantity breaks, destination, and requested timing.
Buyer notes that supersede or clarify older revisions.

Manufacturing definition
Material and drawing requirements are separated from assumptions that still need approval.
Material grade, condition or temper, and substitution rules.
Datums, general and feature tolerances, fits, threads, and surface roughness.
Finish, heat treatment, masking, marking, cleaning, and packaging.

Risk and inspection handoff
The checklist records the features and evidence that affect acceptance before pricing is released.
Assembly-critical, sealing, sliding, bearing, and cosmetic features identified by the buyer.
Requested first-article, measured-data, material, or shipment records.

FAQ
Drawing Review Checklist
Does passing the drawing review mean the order is approved for production?
No. It means the RFQ has enough controlled context to proceed to process, supplier, inspection, and commercial review. Production begins only after the written quote and open assumptions are approved.
Can an image or physical sample replace the drawing package?
An image or sample can provide context, but acceptance still needs controlled dimensional and material requirements. The checklist records that gap instead of treating the image as a complete specification.
Why are quantity and destination part of a drawing review?
They affect process selection, inspection effort, packaging, export assumptions, and commercial timing, so they need to remain attached to the technical package.
